Reserved bicycle lane
What it means
This lane is for cyclists. Drivers may enter it only to turn or to get into or out of a parking spot, and must watch carefully for bicycles when they do.
White with black or red; a red circle with a slash means prohibited, a green circle means permitted.

How to recognise it
A white upright sign with a white diamond on a black panel, a bicycle symbol and an arrow down to the lane.
Where you will see it
Beside the curb lane or a row of parking spots, where the lane is set apart by solid white lines and bicycle and diamond markings.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Do not drive in the bicycle lane, except to turn or to enter or leave a parking spot.
- 2.Before crossing into it to turn, check carefully for cyclists and let them go first.
On the knowledge test
The two exceptions are the whole rule: turning, and getting into or out of a parking spot. The lane line is usually dashed near corners, where entering it to turn right is permitted.
