How to recognise it

Where you will see it
Roads without a bicycle lane that cyclists often use.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Expect cyclists on this road and give them space when you follow or pass them.
- 2.Pass a cyclist the way you would pass any vehicle, by changing lanes when it is safe.
- 3.Do not follow closely: a bicycle has no brake lights to warn you it is slowing.
On the knowledge test
The guide’s wording is that it warns motorists to provide space for cyclists. A ridden bicycle is a vehicle with the same right to the road.
