What it means
Marks a crosswalk used by school children. Watch for pedestrians and be ready to yield to them.
White with black or red; a red circle with a slash means prohibited, a green circle means permitted.

How to recognise it
A white square showing two children walking across a line.
Where you will see it
At crosswalks that school children use on their way to and from school.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Watch for children and other pedestrians, and be ready to yield or stop.
- 2.If yellow lights on the sign are flashing, slow to a maximum of 30 km/h and yield or stop for pedestrians.
- 3.Never pass a vehicle that has stopped for someone crossing.
On the knowledge test
The guide's one line on it is that it alerts drivers to watch for pedestrians. When it has flashing yellow lights, the figure is 30 km/h.
