Playground zone (with maximum speed)
What it means
A playground sign with a maximum speed attached marks a playground zone. Every day from 8:30 a.m. until one hour after sunset (unless a municipality posts other hours) you must not exceed the posted speed, 30 km/h unless otherwise posted, and you must not pass another vehicle.
White with black or red; a red circle with a slash means prohibited, a green circle means permitted.

How to recognise it

On urban and rural roads beside playgrounds.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Every day from 8:30 a.m. until one hour after sunset, keep to the posted speed, 30 km/h unless otherwise posted.
- 2.If a municipality sets other hours, they are posted beneath the playground sign; follow those.
- 3.While the restriction is in effect, do not pass or try to pass a vehicle travelling in the same direction.
On the knowledge test
The contrast with school zones is tested: playground zones apply every day, including weekends, from 8:30 a.m. to one hour after sunset.
