One way
What it means
Traffic on this road moves only in the direction of the arrow.
White with black or red; a red circle with a slash means prohibited, a green circle means permitted.

How to recognise it
A black horizontal rectangle with a white arrow pointing along the road.
Where you will see it
At intersections along one-way streets, where drivers on the cross street can see which way traffic flows.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Travel only in the direction of the arrow.
- 2.Turning left onto it from a two-way road, turn into the first available lane on the left side.
- 3.From one one-way road onto another, a left turn on a red light is allowed after a complete stop, unless a sign prohibits it.
On the knowledge test
The only left turn allowed on a red light is from a one-way road onto a one-way road. Questions often offer a two-way road as the trap.
