Dual left turn lanes
What it means
Both of these lanes turn left, so more than one vehicle turns at the same time. Stay in your own lane throughout the turn and after it.
White with black or red; a red circle with a slash means prohibited, a green circle means permitted.

How to recognise it
A black square with two white arrows side by side, both curving to the left.
Where you will see it
Busy intersections where more than one lane of traffic travelling the same way turns left together.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Both lanes turn left at the same time; choose one before the intersection.
- 2.Keep your lane position during the turn and after it; do not drift into the vehicle turning beside you.
On the knowledge test
The key rule is to maintain your lane position during and after the turn. An answer that lets you change lanes mid-turn is wrong.
