Slippery when wet
What it means
The road surface becomes slippery in wet weather. Slow down, leave more following distance and avoid sudden braking or steering.
Yellow diamonds (and five-sided yellow-green school signs) warn of hazards ahead.

A yellow diamond with a black car trailing wavy skid marks.
Where you will see it
Stretches of road whose surface becomes especially slick in rain.
What to do when you see it
- 1.When the road is wet, slow down and leave more space to the vehicle ahead.
- 2.Brake, accelerate and steer gently; sudden moves are what start a skid.
On the knowledge test
The guide lists it among signs for changing road conditions. The skid marks are the clue: the danger is loss of grip, so the answer involves lower speed and smooth control.
