How to recognise it
The yellow lens in the centre flashing on and off.
Where you will see it
Intersections where the signal flashes yellow instead of cycling through its colours.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Slow down and check the intersection; you do not have to stop if it is clear.
- 2.Proceed with caution after yielding to pedestrians and other vehicles within the intersection.
On the knowledge test
Flashing yellow means caution and yielding, not stopping. If the answer choices mix it up with the flashing red, remember that only red requires a stop.
