Passing permitted
What it means
The no-passing section has ended; you may pass again when it is safe and the road ahead is clear.
White with black or red; a red circle with a slash means prohibited, a green circle means permitted.

How to recognise it
A white square with a green circle around two cars side by side.
Where you will see it
At the end of a no-passing stretch on a highway.
What to do when you see it
- 1.You may pass again, but only when the road ahead is clear and the pass can be completed safely.
- 2.Still obey the lane lines and never exceed the speed limit while passing.
On the knowledge test
Permitted does not mean required or always safe: the pass must still be legal under the markings and safe for the traffic you can see.
