Flag person ahead
What it means
A flag person is directing traffic ahead. Slow down and follow their signals; be ready to stop.

How to recognise it

Where you will see it
Ahead of work zones where a flag person controls traffic, often where one lane is shared by both directions.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Slow down and be prepared to stop.
- 2.Obey the flag person's signal: stop when told to stop, and go only when directed.
On the knowledge test
In a construction zone you must obey the flag person. An answer that lets a green light or your own judgement override the flag person's signal is wrong.
