What it means
The road surface in the work zone is rough or uneven. Slow down and hold the steering wheel firmly.
Orange signs mark construction zones and other temporary conditions.

How to recognise it
An orange diamond showing a bumpy line above a flat line.
Where you will see it
In work zones where pavement has been removed, patched or left at different heights.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Slow down before you reach the rough section.
- 2.Hold the steering wheel firmly and keep a steady course across the uneven surface.
On the knowledge test
Its orange colour places it in a construction area, so the construction speed limit applies there at all times.
