    Explanation: A fully licensed driver who reaches 15 or more demerit points within 2 years is automatically suspended for one month. A cautionary notice comes first, at 8 or more but less than 15 points.

    You receive a traffic ticket and later pay it voluntarily. When are you considered convicted?

    Explanation: You are convicted when you pay the fine, when a court finds you guilty, or when you fail to appear and are convicted in your absence. Demerit points are recorded from that conviction date, not from the day of the ticket.

    What can completing an approved defensive driving course do for your demerit points?
